My Sabbat research in my Bullet journal. You can see this sabbat I wanted to create a new Brigids Cross for my altar. I have gathered some ornamental grasses from my garden and fully intend to create a reed cross but I also I love the idea of the parchment Brigids Cross.
My Pinterest link led me here to this blog below is the original posters cross (on the left) and one I created last night for friend as a talisman for a friend (on the right)
A quick and easy but meaningful sabbat craft that young and old can complete with ease. These little Brigid’s crosses can be blessed, charged and given as talismans or as offerings to your deity. The cross in the picture above is a blessed talisman for a friend who has a big performance coming up in the next week. Continue reading
Spell bottles, also known as “Witches Bottles”, have been in use in England since at least the 1600’s. They were often ceramic vessels, filled with hair, nails, and even urine or blood. They have been found walled up into homes, buried in gardens and or hidden underneath porches and doorsteps as magical guardians. Spell bottles of this type continued to be used well into the 19th century.
Spell bottles are made for a variety of purposes, and are used in numerous ways. Some are buried or otherwise hidden, while others are placed in windows of the home or in other prominent spots. All are concentrations of energy, created and empowered for specific magical purposes.
The Witches’ Bottle is a very powerful means of protecting your space. It is buried on your property (if you are an apartment dweller, you might try burying it in a potted plant at your door) in order to attract all negative things to it where it traps them. If you move, by all means, then dig it up and either destroy it or bring it to your new home.

I use Sigils in many of my spells and witch crafts. My two favourite forms of working sigils are the Magic Square of Saturn and the Witches Sigil Wheel. Both allow you to create a sigil that is almost impossible for someone else to read. Whereas bindrunes another popular method are quite easy to break down into their meaning.
This post will explain how I use these two methods to create sigils, there are many other methods that are out there on the internet and in books, but this is how I use them. Continue reading
Our darling Gracie-Lou past over the Rainbow Bridge on Saturday. I can’t go into details. I’m not ready it’s all far too soon and I’m very raw still.

I do want to share a few photos of our beautiful girl and the hand rolled herb candle I made for her to light her way over to the other side. Continue reading
The hubby and I got married “way” back in 2003. It wasn’t a first marriage for either of us and we decided a quiet affair was best for us. With just my parents in attendance we married after lunch at the local registry office and headed off the York for a mid-week honeymoon. That was it done and dusted! It was always going to be more about the marriage than the wedding day so keeping every thing on the low down suited us both a treat. However looking back at the day years later I did start to feel I had cheated us out of a fun day with all our family and friends celebrating something wonderful.
So in 2010 we decided that to celebrate being together 10 years (2001-2011) we would have a handfasting. We would then as well as being legally married would be married in my new (as it was then) religious path. Continue reading
I always do a ton of book and internet research before putting my sabbat additions into my set rituals. These additions are normally in the form of readings, crafts or outings. This year for Yule I wanted to have a go at a couple of things I had seen and repinned on Pinterest some time ago.
Sadly the pins I have for these pictures do not lead to their original sources so I haven’t linked them.
Here’s is what I created and how I did it. Continue reading
I have a lovely witchy friend “E” who I follow and chat with on IG. Like many other people around the world she had a tough time in 2016. But the strength she showed throughout all the difficulties she faced last year was amazing and I find her a total inspiration. I love seeing her witchy posts as she has some wonderful ideas and practices that she willingly shares with others. One of my most favourite things she makes are her spell candles.
They always look so magickal! So for Yule I decided to have a go at creating my own candle to use during my ritual.
So much has happened over the last couple of weeks. I’ve just returned to work after a 17 day break and taking stock of everything that happened was almost tiring! It’s been a while since I wrote anything for my blog so here’s a quick round up of whats been happening in my life; Continue reading
